A shooting took place at Hillbrow theatre this past Sunday when a concert goer lost his temper during a live performance. The disgruntled and intoxicated man jumped on stage, in the middle of a live band’s performance, and snatched the microphone.
His cellphone had allegedly been stolen and he demanded to know who had taken it.
The man threatened to ‘shut the show down’ if nobody attempted to step forward and return his cellphone. His words were backed by ammunition when he suddenly whipped out a pistol and shot straight into the crowd killing one person and wounding seven.
He fled the scene on foot and was later arrested by police, the next day, for a separate crime he had committed with four other accomplices. He is currently under police guard at Tembisa hospital.
